System requirements

OpenSearch 2.0 for HCL Connections 8.0

Upgrading OpenSearch 1.x to 2.x in HCL Connections has been added in support of OpenSearch 2.

IBM Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server 9.0 Certification

RHEL 8 is scheduled to be discontinued in May 2024. In preparation for this, HCL Connections 8.0 has been tested to work with RHEL 9.0, refer to Post-installation tasks for Connections PDF Export for details.

Self-registration expiration durations for Invite and Password Reset

The duration of an invitation and password reset is now configurable in HCL Connections 8.0. Refer to Configuring self-registration for external users for details.

A power editing experience in HCL Connections

An updated release of the TinyMCE Editor v4.9.2. is now available. The TinyMCE Editor is an alternative, rich-text editor that provides extra features and extensive customization options to users. HCL Connections Update Wizard

A new release of HCL Connections Update Wizard (updateinstaller) is now available. The Update Wizard now supports all previous and future releases of HCL Connections 8.0. To install, refer to Downloading the latest version of the Update Wizard (updateInstaller) for details.

AIX support discontinued for HCL Connections 8.0

Starting with Connections 8.0, the AIX operating system is no longer supported due to limitations with Component Pack that result in failures for critical features.
