Configuring the Tiny Editors integration

The editors can be customized prior to installation by modifying the config/config.js file in the extracted Tiny Editors for HCL Connections package.

1. To reuse existing customizations to the Tiny Editors:

   1. Navigate to customization_path/javascript/tiny/editors/connections

   2. Copy the config.js file and overwrite the config.js provided in the Tiny Editors for HCL Connections package.

2. Then apply any of the following customizations.

3. Selecting an editor
   This option is used to select the editor for HCL Connections™. If the Tiny Editors Selector service is installed, you can choose to assign the editor based on user or security group.

4. Configuring the Tiny Editors Selector roles
   Assigning an editor to users or roles is performed by configuring the Tiny Editors Selector service. This step can also be done after installation of Tiny Editors for HCL Connections is complete.
5. Configuring the Tiny Editors Selector editor priority
   Assigning the editor priority is performed by configuring the Tiny Editors Selector service. This step can also be done after the installation of Tiny Editors for HCL Connections is complete.
6. Modify the Editor CSS
   Customizing the look of HCL Connections™ using custom CSS.
7. Change Spelling Service URL
   If the Tiny Editor Services are not running on the same server as HCL Connections™, the spelling service URL is required.
8. Enable or Disable Spellchecking
   This section describes the process for enabling and disabling the use of the Tiny Editors Services spelling service.
9. Change Link Service URL
   If the Tiny Editor Services are not running on the same server as HCL Connections™, the link service URL is required.
10. Enable or Disable Link Validation
    This section describes the process for enabling and disabling the Tiny Editors use of the Tiny Editors Services hyperlinking service for link validation.
11. Enable or Disable Link Embedding
    This section describes the process for enabling and disabling automatic media embedding in the Tiny Editors.
12. Customize the Toolbar
    The section covers customizing the Tiny Editors toolbar (not including contextual items).
13. Set Fontpicker fonts list
    The section covers customizing the list of fonts provided for the font-picker in the Tiny Editors.
14. Set Colorpicker colors
    Customize the colors shown in the Tiny Editors colorpicker, and to keep or remove the custom color picker.
15. Enable or Disable built-in macros
    This section covers enabling or disabling the Tiny Editors built-in macros: useful text styling macros.
16. Add custom macros
    Creating simple macros to provide useful work shortcuts.
17. Add External TinyMCE Plugins
    Where additional customization is required, custom plugins can be loaded into TinyMCE.
18. Configure additional TinyMCE settings
    TinyMCE has many options not configured by the integration and they can be set by providing them in the additional settings object.
