Preparing your Linux system for installation

Installing includes preparing your operating system, installing HCL Portal and HCL Web Content Manager, and completing the deployment configuration.

Before you begin

Roadmaps for installation and deployment are included in this product documentation to guide you through the process. Roadmaps provide a high-level overview of the process from beginning to end. See Roadmaps to deploy your system for more information.

Then, use the Configuration Wizard to complete the deployment configuration. See Configuration Wizard in our product base documentation to learn more about using the tool.

  • Linux: Preparing your operating system
    Prepare the operating system to ensure a successful HCL Digital Experience installation.
  • Preparing the Installation Manager
    The IBM Installation Manager is used to install installation packages such as HCL Digital Experience and IBM WebSphere Application Server.
  • Running the HCL Digital Experience installer in Linux
    Before installing, users need to follow the proven, stable path and must be at the one-level previous version of HCL Digital Experience plus applicable fixes.
  • Post-requisite steps
    The configuration process has changed. Use the Configuration Wizard to set up your integration with databases, LDAPs, clusters, and more.
  • Upgrading the SDK
    Change your version of the SDK Java Technology Edition using the applicable HCL Digital Experience Combined fix pack.
